Drive down the coastline of Wailea on Western Maui and stop at the beautiful beaches along the way. Make sure to visit Makena State Park with the iconic Big Beach that offers you beautiful natural landscapes with no buildings obstructing your view. Close by, there is Maluaka Beach, also known as “Turtle Beach”, that is perfect for turtle watching and for snorkeling. At the end of this coastal highway, State Highway 31, is La Perouse Bay, where you will find extraordinary marine life and archaeological sites. In the other direction, you can make the 21-mile drive from Wailea up to Paia, the world’s windsurfing capital, and enjoy the glorious waves on the beaches of this historical sugarcane town.
