The rental company kiosk is located on far side of the parking lot just outside the terminal. There is only one major rental agency on Molokai — Alamo. Molokai Airport (MKK) occupies 290 acres on the central plateau of the island of Molokai. Vehicular access to these two areas is provided by separate access roadways, each connecting with the Keonelele Avenue.

On Molokai, you can pick up and drop off your rental car at Molokai Airport (MKK) and start exploring Molokai right from there. Thanks to our car rental company partner, Alamo, you have a great selection of rental cars to choose from. For your family holiday, our cars from the Economy and Standard class are perfect, or, if you are a larger family or group of people, a Minivan is an ideal choice. You can also pick one of our Compact Luxury cars, or even a Convertible to enjoy the beautiful Hawaiian weather.
Because there is only one rental car company on Molokai, it happens often that they are sold out of car rentals — therefore we suggest that you book your rental car for Molokai well in advance. Don't take a chance — especially if you are traveling as a family and want to book a Minivan, or if you intend to book a Jeep Wrangler. These car types are sold out often.
The island of Molokai is famous for its beautiful beaches that are located in three areas of the island. In the central part, close to Hoolehua, stretching along the coastline for three miles, you can discover Moomomi Beach, Keonelele Beach and Kawaaloa Beach. Drive up to Kepuhi Beach or Papohaku Beach Park, Molokai’s largest sandy beach, on the West End of the island. On the East End of Molokai lies the famous Halawa Beach Park which is perfect for a day of relaxed sunbathing and picnicking. Another worthwhile destination is Mauna Loa, the world’s largest volcano that is located 12 miles from Hoolehua.
On Molokai there are many remote locations to discover. If you want to visit one of the nature preserves, your best choice is a 4-wheel drive like a Jeep Wrangler.
Molokai’s maximum speed limit is lower than on the other islands, with a top speed of 45 mph.
On all of Molokai you have to be at least 21 years old to rent a car.
